We are gravure, a fun experimental band from portland, or, inspired by punk, goth, and disco music along with so much more, and we have a saxophone so like come one. Youre required to mosh to the sax solo :)
Why ‘gravure’?
because! gravure is a kind of engraving that made full page photos much easier to print, and in japan specifically this became shorthand for a kind of softcore pornography or erotica, because in magazines the printers would include full page photos of models in skimpy clothing, which became known as “gravure girls” and then the whole genre became “gravure.” isnt that cool and interesting? Also its a fun word.
